  • UK: AMBER LIST, 90 annual UK records BTO
  • WI: Rare visitor (30 or less records)
  • Breeds: Arctic Northern Europe - Scandiavia, (+Scotland rarely)
  • Winters: South Europe, tropical & South Asia, North Africa - freshwater sites
  • Habitat: Tundra, bogs & marshes, grassy meadows, on migration mudflats
  • Diet: Insects, small invertebrates, foraging in soft mud having vegetation
  • Very small wader, short & yellow legs, outer tail feathers white (Compare to little stint - dark legs & grey outer tail feathers), loner
