Western Isles Wildflowers
Western Isles wildflowers is a collection of information about our Hebridean wildflowers including identification hints, traditional herbal uses and general plant lore.
Wood Avens
Geum urbanum
Gaelic: Machall Coille
Wood avens likes shady places. The one in the photograph above was growing under trees in the Stornoway Castle grounds.
Wood avens is a probably not a native wildflower of the Western Isles, it is likely to be an introduced plant.
